Why Is IDS Dataguard™ Dental So Crucial For My Practice?

Cyberattacks & Ransomware

Imagine arriving at your clinic and turning on your computer only to be greeted by a threatening pop-up with a cryptic message demanding an obscenely high payment. And in the absence of payment, you won’t be able to access any of your technological systems. What do you do? Is your clinic’s data safe? Can your practice operate without any access to your clinic or patient data while the police investigate?

Cybercriminals are becoming more and more advanced as they continue to target vulnerable businesses with threatening ultimatums. Ransomware is, unfortunately, an increasingly common form of cyberattack that blackmails and extorts business owners for payment. That’s where we come in.

Server Failure & Data Loss

In the event of a catastrophic server failure or an unfortunate technological accident caused by you or one of your staff members, are you sure you have the knowledge and resources required to ensure that your data is protected and accessible outside of your clinic? Do you have peace of mind knowing that in any event, your clinic is protected?

Mistakes happen, whether from human error, technological failures, or other factors outside of your control. Unfortunately, there’s no way around it. However, there are measures you can take to protect yourself and your clinic.

With IDS DataGuard Dental, we’ll manage your servers, ensuring secure, complete backups every 30 minutes, so you never have to worry about cyberattacks, paying a cent to ransomware, or losing precious data.

Understanding the Process of Protection

IDS Systems DataGuard™ Dental – We manage operations for your server backup and data by accessing your clinic’s backup and disaster recovery appliance and all of its cloud resources through an unbreachable, secured connection.

Internet – Your clinic requires Internet access to function on a day-to-day basis. It’s also where all the dangers, risks, and possibilities of breaches are waiting to threaten your system.

Modem – This is how your practice establishes a connection to the world wide web. Your modem is typically provided by your Internet Service Provider.

Practice Server –  This is the server that holds your clinic’s entire operations. It supports and facilitates scheduling, patient records, images, finance records, insurance records, and everything in between. You wouldn’t have a practice to run without it, which is why we protect it by all means necessary.

BDR Appliance – The Backup and Disaster Recovery appliance is installed by IDS on your clinic’s site. It performs all 30-second backups every 30 minutes and protects your precious data. In the event that your practice server is unavailable, the BDR appliance can function as a practice server in a limited capacity. This device also sends the offsite copy of the data to the cloud for additional protection.

Cloud Data Centre – Located in Toronto, our cloud data centre holds copies of your data should there be an incident. If your server and BDR appliance are both inaccessible for whatever reason, you can rest assured knowing we can launch a recovery from our cloud to your clinic.
